Baby Finn. I absolutely love the name Finn, and am always a little nostalgic over it as we nearly named our Noah, Finn.
This guy really lived up to his sweet name, even though he had absolutely no intention of falling asleep during our session. That's okay Finn, I think you are going to be curious, adventurous, and on your toes in life.
Baby Finn was welcomed by Meredith and her husband Joe, as well as two year old big brother J.J. J.J. is already such a good big brother, and loved to hold and squeeze Finn during our session. I loved photographing these boys in their Edgewater home and watching their brotherhood bond already begin.
Read Meredith's words below on welcoming another beautiful boy into her heart:
1. Tell us about your journey in pregnancy and now in Motherhood?
My husband and I chose to be surprised with the gender of our second (as we did with our first) but from the very early days of my pregnancy I knew it had to be a boy! I had the same symptoms as I did with my first pregnancy and just had a special feeling our son, JJ, would be blessed with a little brother. Although he didn’t experience any of the wonderful pregnancy symptoms, my husband was just as convinced that a second boy was in our future! Labor and delivery didn’t go at all as I planned which reminded us that life is full of surprises. Our 2 year old, JJ, keeps us on our toes with his wild imagination and flare for danger but always offers a gentle reminder to “be careful” - whether it’s directed towards us or a new friend he meets at the playground. We look forward to raising another caring and adventurous little boy!
2. Describe meeting Finn for the first time.
Meeting Finn for the first time gave me a feeling of deja vu! We were lucky enough to have the same awesome doctor (from a practice of over 10!) who delivered JJ deliver Finn! From the calm and collected “it’s time to push” comment to the announcement of a healthy boy, the feeling of deja vu is the best way to describe our first encounter with our newest addition. I felt so overcome with joy as they laid this beautiful little baby on my chest. All the pain of the unplanned natural delivery melted away as I held this little miracle.
3. How has life changed since welcoming your baby?
Our life as a family of 4 has altered slightly since welcoming Finn. Our “baby boy” now reminds us that he is a “big boy” and a “big brother”. We’re lucky enough to maintain some degree of normal in that JJ and Finn get to see their grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins frequently. We can now relate to the analogy of going from zone to man-to-man defense haha! It takes all hands on deck to raise these two boys :) Finally, we may be getting less sleep these days but we wouldn’t trade it for the world!
4. Finish this sentence, Welcoming baby Finn into our lives has been..
Thank you Meredith for sharing!!
