Karissa and I tried to plan a date for her maternity session over a series of actual months. We first attempted to fit it in around the Holidays. With the Holiday's being such a busy time for everyone, that didn't happen. We then picked another day which ended up being freezing cold with extreme winds. Karissa wanted to have their photos taken near the water, I could see us all shivering while also being blown around by the wind! We both agreed that was again not the day. Fast forward a few weeks later and we again attempted to pick another day.
The day that ended up working for their photos was absolutely magnificent! It was a 70 degree day in February with the most gorgeous sunset. After their session was over, I now knew why those other days didn't work out. We were waiting for this day to come along, it was well worth the wait!
Their session took place at Terrapin Park in Kent Island. Terrapin park has a quiet beach off of the Chesapeake Bay. It was actually quite crowded for the beautiful day we had.
Nick and Karissa are expecting another baby girl in the spring. Their daughter Lilly is excited to become a big sister! Lilly could not have brought more of her best smiles. She was also the most polite little girl that I have ever met, good Job Karissa and Nick! Their session was so much fun, despite the fact that I made them walk through a sticker bush (I'm sorry!). We waited for the beach to clear to finish their session and ended with barefoot toes in the sand. Not bad for February in Maryland.
